We recently had the exciting opportunity to learn from the experts at Kagoshima Seicha, who guided us through the intricate and precise art of preparing matcha and gyokuro tea. 🍵✨ If you’ve ever wondered what makes these teas so special, we’re here to share what we learned! Matcha, renowned for its vibrant green color and rich umami flavor, requires a careful balance of water temperature and whisking technique to bring out its full potential. Our partners at Kagoshima Seicha walked us through the process of creating the perfect matcha, demonstrating their expert whisking skills and techniques which brought out the best flavor possible.

Gyokuro, on the other hand, is a premium green tea grown in the shade, which results in a sweet and delicate flavor profile. During our session, we used specific teapots for the brewing process, and the Kagoshima Seicha team showed us how to carefully steep the leaves to unlock the maximum flavor, all while making the tea enjoyable for a variety of palates. What we discovered is that every step of preparing these teas requires patience, precision, and a lot of intention.
