Hobonichi Original A5 Cover - Yumi Kitagishi: White Cat Village

The "White Cat Village" Techo Cover is the fourth Hobonichi collaboration with picture book author and illustrator Yumi Kitagishi. Designed for the Cousin size, this cover features an exclusive scene of a lively village where white cats and their animal friends live, work, and play beneath a large tree and rolling hill.

Inspired by the dollhouse and garden party scenes found throughout Kitagishi’s work, the detailed illustration is filled with colorful houses, charming characters, and small moments to discover. Painted in acrylic gouache and printed on polyester, the cover captures the vivid colors and textured feel of the original artwork.

Inside, the cover takes you into a cozy room with a pale green, wallpaper-like pattern. The right-side pocket features a white cat playing with a dollhouse, while the “butterfly-stopper” pen holders are decorated with a floral Tyrolean tape-inspired design and also function as a clasp to keep the cover closed. Simple ribbon bookmarks add a clean finishing touch.

The back of the cover depicts the village animals gathered for afternoon tea on a grassy hillside. A hidden detail inside the back pocket offers a glimpse into the basement of a little tree house, giving you another small scene to discover.

A quiet message tucked into the design reads, “HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY.” With its colorful village, lively characters, and details waiting to be found, the White Cat Village cover brings a sense of discovery and joy to your everyday planning.

• The pen holder fits pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53") in diameter and is designed for the 12.2 mm (0.48") Jetstream pen. Some pen shapes or materials may be difficult to pull through.
• Slight variations in color or print placement, as well as minor blurring, uneven coloring, or small dots, may occur due to the manufacturing process.
