This is a decorated version of the Clear Cover and Cover on Cover, optional extra coverings designed to protect your Hobonichi Techo from wear and tear while giving solid-color covers a fresh new look. The Clear Cover goes directly over the Hobonichi Techo Weeks book, while the Cover on Cover fits select A6 and A5 size Hobonichi Techo covers and is not designed for use directly on the book.
The illustration was selected from the works of Keiko Shibata, a picture book artist and illustrator. This piece comes from a series of artworks drawn in 2022 with the theme of “wind.” A strong wind blows from the front, causing the dog’s ears to flap and its fur to blow, creating a unique expression of movement.
Although the design may look like a dot pattern from a distance, it actually features seven different dogs arranged in a diagonal pattern. The colorful design is created with oil pastels, giving it a warm, textured feel. The variety of colors pairs well with Hobonichi Techo covers in any color.
In order to preserve the design, the A6 and A5 Cover on Cover versions do not have an opening on the back to access the back pocket of the cover.
